  • William Kim

    Co-Founder/Co-President

    William Kim is a senior attending Concord Academy in Boston. He had a late start to skiing at the age of 11, but his passion for skiing has driven him to improve his skill over five years. He is a KSIA level 1 skiing instructor and is a member of Concord Academy’s varsity skiing team. Over winter break, he enjoys coming back to Korea to ski with DRSA at Yongpyong Ski Resort. As an instructor he is patient, fun-loving, and observant, as he shares the same mission that Beyond Ski was founded for: to bring the joy of skiing to people in need.

  • Diana Oh

    Co-President

    Diana Oh is currently a senior at St. Mark’s School. She has been competitively skiing since she was young, but now skis as a hobby as she spends her breaks back in Korea. As an older sister with a younger brother with an age gap of five, Diana has a passion for teaching younger students and bonding with them through helping them learn valuable experiences.

  • Katie Seoyun Kim

    Co-Founder/ Former President

    Katie is one of the current co-presidents of Beyond Ski. She has been a competitive skier for the last eight years. Throughout her ski career, she has received numerous regional awards. She said she fell in love with skiing the first time she attempted to make her way down the bunny slope at Gonjiam Resort. Having spent her early childhood in Hong Kong, her eight-year-old self was mystified by the concept of wintertime sports. Aside from skiing, she enjoys other sports such as volleyball and surfing. She proudly identifies as a Broadway nerd. She also enjoys watching the TV show Brooklyn 99 and Suits during her spare time.

  • Sean Lee

    Co-Founder/Former President

    Sean started skiing when he was five years old. Throughout his twelve years of skiing, Sean participated in international races such as the 2018 Whistler Cup and the 2019 U-16 Asian Ski Championships where he clinched 3rd. Sean also achieved one gold, one silver, and four bronze medals under his name in the National Winter Olympic Games. Besides skiing, Sean enjoys playing fantasy baseball and going to baseball games to root for his favorite team: the Doosan Bears. Sean is also an avid player of Clash Royale, and consistently reaches 5000 trophies every season. He will greatly appreciate it if other players who reached Master II or higher give advice and feedback on his game-playing tactics. In terms of academics, Sean is an executive of his school’s business club FBLA, and also has interests in mathematics in which he wrote a 15 page research paper and qualified for AIME.

  • Hugo Lee

    Co-Founder/Former President

    Hugo started skiing when he was five years old. Throughout his twelve years of skiing, Hugo participated in international races such as the 2018 Whistler Cup and the 2019 U-16 Asian Ski Championships with his brother, Sean.

    Hugo is currently a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in the US.

  • Hyoim M. Shin

    Hyoim is a sophomore at Korea University. She has been an avid ski racer since 4th grade, and every year, her summer and winter were spent on the ski slopes. From Japan to all the way in South Africa, she has hovered the globe to find snow to ski. She was a member of the U14 and U16 National Ski team of Korea as well as the National B team. In 2018, she participated as the forerunner in the PyeongChang Paralympics. Besides skiing, she loves to draw and spend time with her family and friends. She has founded Beyond Ski after being alerted of the urgency of action for climate change. She wants to preserve the legacy of skiing in the future and spread awareness about the consequences of climate change that has plagued our earth.

  • Eugene H. Shin

    Skiing is an unofficial family tradition for Eugene and has been skiing with his family since he was 5 years old.

    He had participated in professional ski training in Yongpyong(Korea), Cardrona(New Zealand), and Mt. Hood(USA). He is a KSIA level 1 skiing instructor and wants to share his talent with communities.

    Besides skiing, he has many interests ranging from drumming, art, history, economics, and business. Whenever he has time, he likes to express his interests with drawing, painting, and photography.

  • Andrew Nam

    Andrew Nam has been a fervent ski racer since his early days. He developed his passion for skiing when he was just 6 years old, and since then, he has skied every winter at various ski resorts in Korea. He honed his skills for the next couple of years and placed 1st place in every competition he participated in when he was in 3rd grade. After reaching his highest point, he turned his focus to helping the world. Thus, he started to advocate for the issue that is centered around climate change.

  • Sophie Cho

    Sophie is currently a freshman at University of Washington. SheI was born in Korea and moved to Hong Kong right after. After living there for a couple of years, she moved back to Korea, and it was around third grade when she first joined her ski club. After a few years of skiing in the club, she became more drawn to the competitive world of skiing. She had gone on competitions and was able to find enjoyment in this sport. Now, she hopes to spread this joy to others and introduce everyone to the positive atmosphere of the ski community.

  • Diane Lee

    Diane Lee is a high school student attending Chadwick international school in Korea. She has been an active skier since she was 5 years old. Every year since grade 1, her winter was spent on ski slopes. Diane has competed in numerous ski races and placed in the top 3 for years. Diane also has a Level 1 ski instructor degree. When she was in the 4th grade, she moved to Hong Kong for school and decided it was best to have skiing as a hobby. She also learned many other sports but knew that skiing was always her best sport. Diane wants to share her knowledge of skiing with others to show them that they can have a great time and enjoy all the benefits.

  • Beomgeun Choi

    He is the fastest U14 skier in the world. He was the number one U13 ski player in Korea until 2022. Beomgeun Choi’s challenge to get the high record in skiing hasn’t stopped. He moved to the USA and built up many experiences. Furthermore, he participated in Whistler Cup which is the international ski race in April in 2023 as a representative of Korea and stood on the highest podium. He broke the Korean record in this race., becoming the first Korean ski player to win first place in U14. He is currently boarding at the Cardigan Mountain School in the USA and is preparing for the U16 winter race of 2024.

  • Justin Hyomin Shin

    Skiing is an unofficial family tradition for Justin, and he has been skiing with family since he was three years old. Following in the footsteps of his older sister and brother, he started ski training with a team at a young age and participated in races every winter. He spent most of his summer vacations training in MT. Hood, Oregon in the United States. Outside of skiing, he loves theater and has been on stage for four years in school theater.
